Acknowledgement of Country Project
Terms and Conditions
1. Entry is open to young people aged under 18 years during the project duration who reside in Western Australia.
2. Entry to the project is free.
3. The project will accept entries from 15 April 2025 until 14 May 2025. Entries received outside of these dates will not be eligible for consideration.
4. Entries must be submitted via before a deadline of 9.00am, 14 May 2025 via the online entry form.
5. If an entrant is unable to submit their entry via the above method for any reason, they are to contact the Commissioner’s office before the closing deadline on 6213 2297 or info@ccyp.wa.gov.au to discuss alternative submission options for their entry.
6. Submissions must focus on sharing acknowledgement and respect for Traditional Custodians and the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples to Country, land and waters.
7. There is no limit on the number of submissions allowed per child/young person.
8. Content deemed to be offensive, defamatory or discriminatory by the Commissioner or her staff will not be eligible for consideration and will be removed from the project.
9. All content submitted in an image format must be high resolution digital images of a minimum of 300ppi in quality.
10. Files must be in the following format: JPEG or PNG, PDF or DOC.
11. Image files must not exceed 5MB.
12. Entrants under 16 years of age must receive parent or guardian consent, which must be noted at time of entry.
13. All submissions will be viewed by the Commissioner and members of her team.
14. The words and drawings submitted by WA children and young people will be then used to make a collaborative acknowledgement of Country.
15. All children and young people who made a submission will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $50 kids/teen voucher.
16. Each child/young person will only be entered into the draw for the voucher once.
17. All content submitted may be used and published by the Commissioner for Children and Young People at their discretion in formats including but not limited to reports, website, social media, promotional items.
