How to enter

Digital entry (online)

Submitting your photo online is quick and free. Here's how:

1. Take your photo. Choose one of the six themes and capture your shot. Your photo must have been taken within the last 12 months.
2. Check your photo meets the guidelines. See the photo guidelines section below before you submit.
3. Get a parent or guardian involved (if you're under 16). They'll need to complete the form with you and give their consent.
4. Fill in the entry form. Use the online form below. You'll be asked for your name, age, region, photo upload, theme, and an optional caption.
5. Submit. Once you submit, a confirmation email will be sent to your parent or guardian's email address.

Photo guidelines

Before you submit, make sure your photo ticks all these boxes:

• Your photo was taken within the last 12 months.
• The photo is your own original work — no AI-generated images.
• No digital filters have been applied. Cropping and basic exposure correction are fine.
• The file is a JPEG or PNG, at least 300 ppi resolution, and no larger than 5 MB.
• If your photo includes other people, you have their consent (or their parent or guardian's consent) to enter it.
• The photo does not contain offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory content.

Photos that do not meet these guidelines may be disqualified. If you're not sure, contact us before you submit.

What's up for grabs?

There are prizes for the top three entries, plus a People's Choice award voted by the public.

The People's Choice winner is voted by the public through the CCYP website after entries close. Voting details will be announced in June 2026.

Consent and privacy

If you're under 16

If you are under 16 years old, a parent or guardian must complete the entry form with you. The form includes a consent section that your parent or guardian will need to complete and agree to before your entry can be accepted.

How your photo may be used

By entering, you agree that CCYP may use your photo in our reports, on our website, in social media, and in other promotional materials related to Snapshot WA. Where possible, your photo will be credited using your first name, surname initial, and age — for example, Mia T., age 14.

All photos are reviewed by the CCYP team before being shared publicly. Nothing is published automatically.
