Here I Am: Stories from Western Australian Children and Young People

An important part of the Commissioner's role is to listen to children and young people across Western Australia like you and to make these views known to the community and decisions makers. 

December 2022 marked 15 years since WA first appointed a commissioner to provide an independent voice for our state's children and young people. To mark this anniversary, the Commissioner wanted to create Here I Am to showcase the incredible stories of 15 everyday leaders wo are making a difference in their communities.

The Commissioner hopes Here I Am will encourage and inspire you to speak up, get involved and make positive changes in your community.

Each school in WA will be sent a copy of Here I Am and the Commissioner has also sent a copy to key decision makers in government and the wider community to encourage them to recognise the important contribution young people make.
